4. At home. Wherever home is. Imagine living anywhere on the planet---cities like Chicago, Cheyenne, Custer, Cape Town, Calcutta or countries like China, Czech Republic, Costa Rica, Canada, Chad---and reaching an audience spanning every continent, every country, every city on earth.

All the while working for yourself.

A couple of years ago, I didn't realize the possibilities.

Today, I live and write from Costa Rica, my readers come from more than 130 countries and I'm working for myself at something I love and making money.

You can, too---no matter where you live.

Why imagine when, as Nike says, you can "Just Do It!"?

Parting the Red Sea

Some years earlier, another fellow, actually a pretty old guy, realized he didn't want to be a Prince of Egypt anymore so he set out on a 40 year sojourn and, to the surprise of everybody (well, almost everybody), he parted the Red Sea. Wow!!!

So, you can either look backward ("Gee, I'm stuck here with my bills in a job I don't like") or forward ("Gee, there's the Red Sea. I'm going to part it and make my own future").

It's about mindset because one thing is always true.

If you think you can't, you're always right.

Working For Yourself On The Net: The Future Is Here

Well. . . I didn't have legal residency. I hadn't come to work in Costa Rica full-time, or to work for somebody else for that matter---or to work for Costa Rica wages.

But, I also didn't want to sit around on my bottom the rest of the days and making money has always had a certain appeal to me.

So I decided to research my opportunities, spending a couple of long days searching through dozens and dozens of different websites, before realizing that the answer had been in front of me the whole time!

Make A Living Doing Something Your Love!

In the middle of the second very long day of surfing the net, I stumbled upon this quote on the SBI website:

In an instant, I realized the answer that had seemed so elusive was staring me in the face. It was writing about something I love, Costa Rica, and the internet offered me a platform to reach the world while making a living doing so.

SBI stands for Site Build It! and when I checked it out, it said it could help turn any hobby, passion or skill into a viable online business.

I hadn't realized that almost any topic can make money with a website and SBI said it could help anyone, even a rank amateur (that was me) find a good topic for a website, build it, bring traffic to it, and even learn how to make money.

But, build a website? I was barely competent with e-mail.
