TOURISM IN COSTA RICAVOL. 3 EVEN MORE THINGS TO DOTourism in Costa Rica is booming, thanks to so many things to do. Everybody is familiar with its beaches, fishing, and volcanoes but in this section, I'll show you several other things to so, some for the more adventurous, some for the more curious, and one or two simply because they are very popular these days. You'll be introduced to one of the world's best places for windsurfing, Lake Arenal. Then, onto bullfighting. Like their cousins in Spain, Costa Ricans love bullfights, but with two really big exceptions. First, Costa Rica "matadors" are all amateurs who pay money to get in a ring to get chased by a bull. Second, the bull isn't allowed to be hurt. "Bullfighting" is so popular that, every year, it fills the television waves for a full week from Christmas. If you're a gambler, I'll take you a section on Costa Rica casinos. Into nature? Start your tour with sea turtles or flowers. Tourism in Costa Rica: Windsurfing at Lake Arenal
Try windsurfing at Lake Arenal, one of the greatest places on earth to do so. Great winds, averaging 25 mph from December through April, swells up to 5 feet, always warm air and water temperatures, and a lake that's 24 miles long----all in the shadow of magnificent Arenal Volcano, one of Costa Rica's Seven Wonders. Boards are available for rental. Windsurfing at Lake Arenal click Tourism in Costa Rica: Bullfighting
When you think of a Costa Rica vacation, beaches, great weather, and magnificent scenery come to mind but bullfighting?
It's true. But it's not exactly the kind of bullfighting that Ernest Hemingway had in mind when he wrote "Death in the Afternoon." Nope. Here the bulls are never hurt. It's bullfighting Pura Vida style. You can watch or become a matador (no experience necessary). Unique Costa Rica tourism. No bull. For a novel experience( sorry for the pun, I'm still thinking Hemingway) try Costa Rica bullfighting, click Tourism in Costa Rica: Gambling

Sea Turtles
Here's a fact from sea turtle experts. Only female sea turtles come on shore because they need to nest. Adult males NEVER return to the beach. Hmmm. Looks like a couple of sea turtles didn't get the memo. . . . But, after all, this is Costa Rica and even sea turtles are entitled to a little Pura Vida! If you travel Costa Rica during nesting season, make it a point to experience something truly extraordinary. Costa Rica tourism is, literally, helping to preserve sea turtles, click Medical Tourism in Costa Rica
Why is this pretty lady smiling? Is it because of her Costa Rica vacation? Yep. Is it because she looks so good now? Certainly. Is it because her Costa Rica cosmetic surgery cost her about 30% of what she'd have paid in the U.S.? Absolutely. She saved so much money, it paid for her Costa Rica vacation---and her husband's, too! He's also smiling.
