JACO HOSTELS

For many who travel Costa Rica, Jaco Beach is at the top of their Costa Rica vacations. Jaco hostels offer great budget options. Jaco Costa Rica sits on the tropical central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, about two and a half hours from San Jose.

See for yourself in our comprehensive collection of Costa Rica maps, click.

If you're on a budget or want to leave the driving to others, consider taking an express bus. They're ubiquitous in Costa Rica, modern, fast, comfortable, convenient, and cheap (think about $5.00 from San Jose to Jaco).

There are several bus terminals in San Jose but they don't all take riders to the same places.

To go to Jaco, you'll leave from the Coca Cola terminal in downtown San Jose.

Don't look for a Coke bottling plant because there isn't one but long, long ago (in a far off galaxy) there used to be a Coca Cola plant here. Hence the name. Buses travel frequently and everywhere in Costa Rica. Click to see complete Costa Rica bus schedules.

A word of caution is in order.

Coca Cola terminal is crowded, hectic, and along with its travelers are frequent pickpockets and thieves. Carry your wallet and passport in a front pocket if possible and pay attention to your surroundings here.
