COSTA RICA RAFTING

One popular attraction for visitors to the Land of Pura Vida are family-friendly Costa Rica rafting trips.
There are several rivers to choose from.

One of the country's most popular attractions is mighty Arenal Volcano. From there, you can float the Corobici River from Lake Arenal, the country's largest lake.

This is the calmest river in Costa Rica, perfect for the entire family from small children to those still having the soul of a child.

You’ll float past Palo Verde National Park and enjoy the many birds and butterflies, iguanas, river otters, and monkeys along the way.

This is a great Costa Rica vacation activity for the entire family.

If you haven't checked it out yet, click here to visit Lake Arenal.

Take a half-day or full-day run or pick a package that includes a side-trip to the Los Pumas Rescue Center for wild cats.

You can also float the White Rock River that flows past La Fortuna (the little town just outside of Arenal volcano) for another nice family rafting trip.

Plan about five hours for this float.

And, be sure to check out the magnificent Penas Blanca River, also in the area.

This river has some sections of great white water and other sections for those who want a calm float as they travel Costa Rica.

You’ll float through deep tropical gorges past volcanic hot-springs.

An outstanding trip.

And, many of these rivers flow to the Pacific so you can also catch nice river trips in the Guanacaste area and south.

For example, there's a gentle float trip down the Corobici (I told you about floating this river by Arenal, too) that you'll catch just outside of Liberia.

Closer to San Jose is the Pejibaye River in the shadows of mighty Turrialba volcano, click.

And, don't forget about Sarapiqui. About two hours east of San Jose, it offers a variety of rafting options and sometimes great wildlife viewing.
