IMPORTANT TELEPHONE NUMBERS

Before your Costa Rica travel, I suggest you print this page and take it along in case of an emergency.

Stick it in your car rental glove compartment.

You don’t have to use an area code anywhere in the country. Just the numbers on this page.

I know your Costa Rica travel plan is to have fun only but if you get sick or hurt these numbers will come in handy so before you take that trip take these numbers down.

POLICE and INFORMATION

Emergency Calls: 911 This bilingual service is available in the Central Valley (San Jose, Cartago, Heredia, Alajuela).

However, if you have an emergency in the provinces of Guanacaste, Limon, or Puntarenas your 911 call will be redirected to the nearest hospital or police station.
