Costa Rica Whale Watching

We forget that only a dozen or so decades in the past, entire communities---indeed, entire countries---depended upon whaling for food and oil to light their homes.

Sea Turtle Ecotourism

When she was a child, hundreds of thousands of sea turtles nested every year along every beach by Rosa's house. Rosa is a young Tica woman who lives on the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

Now she sees only a few.

Just a couple of decades ago, MILLIONS came ashore in Costa Rica to lay hundreds of millions of eggs.

Rosa wants her kids to see what she did so she's fighting to preserve these magnificent creatures.

Though the task is daunting, she's not alone, and Costa Rica ecotourism is playing a critical role in preserving the future of

Sea Turtles.

Tortuguero Sea Turtle Ecotourism

As I noted, Costa Rica ecotourism may be helping to save the country's plant and animal species and, in many ways, it has been led by a marvelous Caribbean park just north of where Columbus landed and named Costa Rica five centuries ago. It's a must-see for Tortuguero sea turtle ecotourism.
