You can even look for the very rare fresh-water Tuxuci porpoise whose existence was not even known (except to local fishermen) until the mid ‘90s. And, don’t forget to visit the Gandoca-Manzanillo Refuge for a spectacular five mile long beach where four species of sea turtle nest and where there's a coral reef about 500 feet off shore. Fellow traveler, you’re at the end of the road here (next stop, Panama) but, as you look out over the azure Caribbean, think of Christopher Columbus.
