Whale Watching

Because of a geological phenomenon called "the Dome" off the coast of Costa Rica, an incredible variety of whales and porpoises visit.

Humpback whales from the Antarctic swim north 11,500 miles to winter in the clear waters while humpback whales from the Arctic swim nearly as far to winter here offering Costa Rica tourists the longest whale watching season in the world, click here not to mention so many kinds, like the blue whale (largest animal in the history of the planet) to the odd and rare beaked whale.
