Opening a Costa Rica Bank Acct
by: Editor

Unfortunately, you will need to personally be present to open a Costa Rica bank account. Though banks differ as to what they require, at a minimum you should expect to show your passport and a couple of items showing you are living here, even if temporarily: a cable bill, rent receipt, etc.

Don't be discouraged if a bank refuses to let you open an account. Simply go to another bank.
